Elena Dementieva defeated Dinara Safina 2-1 in an all-Russian final to win the Women's Singles Tennis gold medal at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games here on August 17.
Dementieva scored a 3-6, 7-5 and 6-3 victory for the gold medal.
Earlier, Vera Zvonareva ensured a clean sweep of medals for Russia by beating China's Li Na 6-0 and 7-5 in the bronze medal match.
